What is SD(Standard Definition):

SD is a television system that utilizes a resolution not regarded as either high or improved.

What is HD(High Definition): HQ(High Quality)

High-definition video is higher-resolution and high-quality video than standard. While there is no standardized significance for high definition, video images with significantly more than 480 vertical lines are usually available.

What is FHD(Full High Definition):

Full HD relates to the resolution of the 1080p picture. Full HD is the default tier for Blu-Ray, digital TV and most internet HD videos.

  • HD: 720p Resolution of images (1,280x720 pixels)
  • Full HD: Resolution of 1080p image(1,920x1,080pixels)
  • Ultra HD: Resolution of 4K picture (3,840x2,160 pixels)


 What is 4K(4K Resolution - 4,000 pixels):

4K Resolution relates to roughly 4,000 pixel Horizontal Display Resolution. Many distinct 4K resolutions are frequently used by digital television and digital cinematography.

3840 x 2160 (4 K UHD) is the dominant 4K standard in television and consumer media, while 4096 x 2160 (DCI 4 K) is used by the film projection sector.

  • 3840 × 2400(16∶10)

Pixel Aspect Ratio

Pixel Aspect Ratio(PAR) is a mathematical ratio that defines how a pixel's width compared to that pixel's height in a Digital Image.

What is the difference between SD and HD:

SD(Standard Definition) is the predecessor of HD(High Definition) video and is characterized by a smaller screen size of 4:3 (720 x 576 PAL) and 480 (720 x 576 PAL) vertical resolution.

HD video is a high definition video with a higher resolution image and sound at 1920 x 1080 (1080 vertical resolution lines) or 1280 x 720 (720 vertical resolution lines).

SD Card(Secure Digital Card):

SD Card(Secure Digital Card) is an ultra-small flash memory card intended to deliver a tiny size high-capacity memory.

DVD(Digital Versatile Disc): 

DVD was created in 1995 as a Digital Optical Disk storage format. The medium can store Digital Information of any kind and is commonly used for Software and other Computer Files as well as Video Programs watched using DVD players. DVDs are more capable of storage than compact disks.

VCD(Video Compact Disc):

Video CD is a format for home video and the first format to distribute movies on conventional 120 mm optical disks.

CD(Compact Disc):

CD a Digital Optical disk information storage format co-developed and published by Philips and Sony in 1982.
